FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

Billy Bland—As of 7/8/02 Checking Acct. balance-$16,500.43. Reserve Fund balance $11,742.48.  Building Acct. balance- $7,656.60. Stephanie Morris asked if Billy Bland has ever embezzled any money from the church.  Billy answered emphatically “NO”.  We have a category of Pastors Annuity that has not been paid.  When the pastor decides where he wants it to go, we will have to pay it.  It stands at $600 through the month of July.

FACILITIES AND MAINTENANCE

Lynnette Bland reported that the Door to the Nursery has been finished, and they are still working on getting cubbies for the nursery. Jo Eller is working on the Steeple project, and the Van is going to be used for Passport.

PASTOR SUPPORT TEAM

Melissa Goudelock reported that the PST had collected the surveys and that the information was favorable.  The PST would meet on Tues. 7/9/02 to discuss the voting procedure for Jef Tobias on 7/28/02.  It has been agreed that he will accept an 85% approval.  It was also expressed that we needed to have a back-up plan in case the vote is a negative.  A motion was made to offer Jef a continued interim position until we find a pastor or he finds a job.  It will be announced at the business meeting this Sunday.

It was also stated that absentee ballots would be accepted and the voter must sign the ballot.

CHILDREN

Pat Bender reported that she is planning a meeting of the Children’s Sunday School teachers. It will be announced later.

EXTENDED CARE

Beth Long reported that some teenagers have expressed an interest of working in the nursery.  It was discussed that it may be possible if they worked one on one with an adult.  At no time will there be one or more teens working in the nursery without an adult. Make sure their parents are comfortable with it. It will be discussed further.

TLC

Angie Martin reports that all is well. John Thomas is going into the hospital for heart procedure.  She will keep in touch.

YOUTH AND PASSPORT

Everything is ok, and they are ready to go. Tom Morris reported that the youth have approx. $1700.00 in their account.

SHEPHERD’S REPORT

Pat Bender reported that there are Shepherds that want to roll off, but it is not set in concrete as to who will or will not stay on and help with the transition to new Shepherds.  Pat volunteered to stay on as long as necessary. It needs to be presented to the church anytime now and hopefully people will be led to take these positions.

MUSIC

Wendi Berg reported that she has looked into the electronic pianos and she found a Yamaha Clavenova CLP 950 for $2095.00. She played this model and it is suitable to her.  Beth Zboran made a motion to bring it to the church at the meeting on 7/14. Lynnette seconded. We would vote on it on 7/28.

WORSHIP PLANNING AND PASTOR’S REPORT

Jef Tobias reported that the Spiritual Gifts Discovery will begin on August 14th, and the cost will be 5.00 per person for materials.  It will last 6 weeks, and nursery will be provided.  The School Ministries Christian Learning Center has talked with Airport High School, and would like to use our facilities during school hours and have High School Students attend these meetings as a “break” from classes.  The meetings will be once a week on Mondays.  They want to bring in kids that are on a waiting list to get Drivers Ed., and they can come to this instead of Study Hall.  Find out if there is any liability.
